E.Via - E.Viagradation Part 1 [Review]

Anyone who know me well knows how much I love E.via. With a unique flow and fast paced rapping, she is definitely one of the most underrated Korean rappers. Today she released her lastest album E.Viagradation Part 1 so I'm curious to hear that the songs sound like.

[Mini Album] E.Via - E.Viagradation Part.1 (Black & Red)

Although there are 7 songs on the album, technically there are only 2 proper songs as there are 2 instrumentals, an intro, an outro and a monologue which was a little disappointing. Regardless of this, I'm keen to see what these songs are like.

E.Via feat. Isoo- Crazy Fate (미친 인연)

As expected, the speed and flow of E.Via's rapping is incredible, living up to her nickname as the 'Female  Outsider'. The violins add to the solemn and and eerie feel of the song. Even though E.Via's rapping and Isoo's singing sound good, there's still something missing in this song.

E.Via feat. Baekyeong - Bleeding Rose At Night (밤에 피는 장미)

This song has a vampire-esque feel to it. So many K-Pop stars have opted for the vampire concept recently so it feels a little cliché but after playing this song a couple of times it is starting to grow on me. The way E.Via switches from fast paced rapping to singing displays her versatility.

Honestly I really didn't want to give E.Via's album a bad review, because as an artist I believe she has a lot of potential, but this album is a bit of a let down. As well as lacking proper songs on the album, the 2 'proper' songs were OK. However, I was probably expecting too much. Although E.Via's rapping is awesome as usual, the songs lack substance and I don't think I'll be playing them on repeat as I did with her other songs unfortunately.

If you like what you heard you can purchase this album at:
iTunes
Daum

Even though my review was a little negative, don't let it put you off finding out more about E.Via as she does have some brilliant songs. My favourite songs are:

E.Via - My Medicine

E.Via feat Sori - Diary

I literally love these two songs and play them on repeat to this day~! ^^

Miryo - MIRYO aka JOHONEY [Review]

Sorry about the lack of posts, we've been really busy lately so I haven't had the chance to post but we'll be flooding the blog with posts this week.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been addicted to Miryo's solo album 'MIRYO aka JOHONEY' and if you've had a listen to it you'll know who. Miryo is the rappy in Brown Eyed Girl and she has always been rated highly for her rapid and fluid rapping.

Miryo - Dirty

When I first watched the video I watched it with no sound so I thought the song would be quite a sad song that would sound a little eerie so I was pleasantly surprised when it was the opposite. This upbeat song is so catchy.

Miryo feat. Gary & The KOXX

'Party Rock' features Leessang's Gary and The KOXX. I absolutely love Leessang so I was expecting a lot from this song and it lived up to my expectations. I find myself dancing to this song all the time and I even set it as my ringtone. Haha~

Miryo feat. Sunny - I Love You, I Love You

A contrast from the other fast paced songs on this album, this song is mellow and soothing. Miryo's exceptional rapping complements Sunny's voice perfectly.

Miryo feat. Rude Paper - Revenger

Honeslty this is another amazing song on Miryo's album. Miryo's expressed a lot of emotion from her rapping which I really like. As well as this this, it has a bit of dubset which makes this song perfect for dancing to.

Miryo feat. Narsha - Leggo

This is the last track on the album and it is the cherry on top. Narsha is another member of Brown Eyed Girls. This second verse is my favourite.

All in all, this album is just pure perfection. To be totally honest, I cannot find fault in any of the songs on the album. I've played the whole album on repeat since it was released so I'd definitely recommend it to you guys~. ^^
